Tito is a simulation of guerrilla warfare in the Balkans during the Second World War. The game portrays all of the elements of this dynamic partisan campaign, which successfully tied down large numbers of Axis troops on occupation duties and eventually helped liberate Yugoslavia and Albania from Axis Domination. The using area movement and numerous display boxes (with varying victory point values) that represent cities and other key positions, the Yugoslav player gains victory points areas occupied. The simulation reflects the complex situation within Yugoslavia where guerrilla factions fought each other along with battling the Axis. The degree to which the factions relied on the Soviets affected how heavily they would dominated by Moscow after the war! The German war machine depended on Yugoslavia's raw material. Some 50% of its oil originated in Yugoslavia. The guerrilla war was a war the Germans needed to wage, but Germany had to wage it as cheaply as possible given the importance of the other fronts. Articles included on Yugoslavia's partisan warfare, chemical warfare, medieval navies, and Civil War artillery. Game designed by David Rustin. Published July/August 1980 by SPI.
