The cover (high grade excellent condition with only minor creasing), magazine with rules attached (near new condition with no marks, writing, etc., except perhaps for some aging), 22"x34" full-color map (new condition with deep colors, except for minor creasing at the corners), and 300 counters (unpunched, nicely-centered front & back, in new condition) are all in high grade excellent to new condition.
The bonus includes variant rules and art for six variant counters (the art will be emailed) for U.S. forces involved in a Special Operations Scenario based on the idea that the U.S. has decided to openly intervene in Nicaragua; the variant was created by Joseph Miranda, one of the game's designers and appeared in Moves Magazine #75. Also included are improved (though unofficial rules), game reviews, and official errata. Some to all of the bonus will be sent by email upon shipping your purchase. All bonus and extras material are available for sale separately if requested. "Nicaragua! Revolution in Central America is a simulation of the guerrilla warfare that had been a way of life in Central America for years. Although the game is set in Nicaragua and portrays the Somoza vs. Sandinista vs. Contra conflicts, it does not attempt to simulate those events in minute detail. The war against Somoza was a nearly perfect political victory for the Sandinista guerrillas, despite their limited military success. On the other hand, the Contras, backed by a singularly unsuccessful U.S. policy, have attempted to oust the Sandinistas by ignoring the political aspects and running a conventional war at a large unit level. Nicaragua! shows how modern revolutionary warfare works. The game involves both military and political struggles and includes such decisive factors as intelligence operations and propaganda. In the game, one player assumes the role of the Government, the other player is the Rebel. Each uses his political forces to gain popular and foreign support, raise forces, and demoralize the enemy. Each uses his military forces to hunt down and neutralize or eliminate his opponent. Players must be able to manipulate both military and political forces in order to win." -- from the rules. Game designer Joseph Miranda and John Burtt. Published July\August 1988 by 3W.
